Description
A 2 kg CO₂ fire extinguisher is a hand-portable unit designed for firefighting in flammable liquid fires (Class B) and electrical / energized equipment fires. Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is used as the extinguishing agent; CO₂ displaces oxygen around fire and cools, leaving essentially no residue, making it well suited for sensitive equipment. The cylinder is made of steel or aluminum, fitted with a horn-type outlet (often anti-frost), safety pin, and comes with bracket for mounting. Ambients of operation often span from around -20 °C to +60 °C.
Key Features
-
Clean, Residue-Free Agent — CO₂ leaves no powder or foam, so minimal cleanup; ideal near electronics or delicate machinery.
-
Effective Fire Classes — Designed for use on Class B (flammable liquids) and electrical / live equipment fires.
-
High Pressure Design — Working pressures around 12 bar with test pressure up to 25 bar, ensuring reliable delivery and safety.
-
Quick Discharge Time — Typically ~ 8-10 seconds; range ~1-3 meters, allowing fast suppression.
-
Durable Construction — Cylinder made from carbon or alloy steel or aluminum; brass or nickel-plated valves; robust operation over time.
-
User-Friendly Design — Often includes anti-frost horn to prevent cold burns, side-outlet or swivel horn to direct discharge safely; lightweight enough to be portable
