Description
The Context Plus Series 65A Photo-Electric Smoke Detector is a UL-Listed conventional optical (photoelectric) smoke detector using light-scatter technology to sense smoke produced by smouldering / slow-burning fires. It features a pulsing LED indicator inside the housing for visual status. Designed to operate over a wide supply voltage range (9-33 V DC), the unit draws very low current in standby, rising significantly in alarm. It is suitable for UL listed conventional fire alarm systems and is designed to work reliably even under varying pressures or airflow, making it well suited for bedrooms, escape routes, and similar critical areas.
Key Features
-
Low Standby Current: ~ 45 μA at 24 V (and ~ 40 μA at 9 V) — reduces power load on panel, suitable for circuits with many detectors.
-
Alarm Current: ~ 52 mA at 24 V / ~ 17 mA at 9 V — clear signal during alarm conditions.
-
Flashing LED Status Indicator: Red LED pulses or flashes to show visual confirmation of alarm or status, making monitoring easier.
-
Wide Supply Voltage Range: 9 to 33 V DC — works with many panels, flexible installation.
-
Ambient Operating Temperature: ~ 32°F to 100°F (0°C to ~38°C) — adequate for many indoor environments.
-
Remote Output: Sink current for remote LED indicator or other remote signalling, up to 17 mA. Useful for remote status display.
-
Robust to Environmental Effects: Designed to be unaffected by wind or atmospheric pressure changes.
